Video Sequence Timings

This diagram shows the logic when the sensor operates in Video Mode, including the optional “Extend” and “Sony” behaviours.

• Duration: C Var 1 (default 0.1 s)
• Optional Flash Wake: C Var 7 = 1 or 2

[Full-Press (FP) Sent – Start Recording]
• FP press duration: C Var 5 (default 1 s)
• Recording length: TIME (menu)
• EXT Mode = ON → Timer resets on new motion
• Maximum video length limit: C Var 6 (if set)
• MODE options:
– **Full Press:** Start / Stop recording (Canon / Nikon)
– **Half Press:** Legacy Magic Lantern DSLRs
– **Sony:** FP pulse every 15 s; recording stops when pulses cease

• HP after FP duration: C Var 2 (default 0.1 s)

• Sensor waits before accepting next trigger

Notes – Video Mode
- EXT Mode: Extends recording if motion continues; use C Var 6 to impose a maximum length limit.
- Sony Mode: Prevents indefinite recording if a stop signal is missed.
- Lighting: For night recording, use continuous or infrared lights controlled via Camtraptions Video Light Switches.
